The Richmond Ambulance Authority (RAA) and the Richmond SPCA launched the Paws for Paramedics partnership in 2018. The program is designed to help EMS providers relieve stress through regular interaction with pets from the Richmond SPCA and give pets in need of adoption an opportunity to find a forever home. Recently, sisters Tamagotchi and Lava Lamp came to RAA headquarters for a visit as part of the program. RAA’s Chief Operating Officer, Wayne Harbour, fell in love with the bonded sisters. He and his wife Lori had recently lost their beloved dog and were looking for new companions. The two felt fate had brought the sisters to them and a day after their visit they were adopted. Both Tamagotchi and Lava Lamp have a new home at the Harbour house.
