A tragedy can happen in an instant. First responders are faced with life threatening scenarios all the time which is why we’re always training. The Richmond Ambulance Authority joined the Richmond Department of Emergency Communications, Richmond Fire Department, and Richmond Police Department to train during a simulated school bus crash.

The Virginia Association for Pupil Transportation simulated a school bus rolling over at the Richmond Coliseum with actors playing the roles of students and frantic parents. First responders responded to the “scene” as they worked on treating victims and the reunification of families.

It’s so important for public safety organizations to have trainings like these in a controlled environment in order to prepare them for worst case scenarios.
